Wheel won't come off.
Ok I hate this shit but have to ask. Any more tricks out there to getting a wheel off a car? I have the car in the air, and have tried kicking, pulling, and a BFH. Nothing besides a little rust comming off the rims.

Re: Wheel won't come off.
That's about all you can do is hit it harder. But when you put them back on, make sure to use a little anti-sieze on the back of the wheel and/or the hat of the rotor. That will make it easier to get off in the future.

Better yet, take the lugs off, and then drive it around, and take some corners real fast. I bet they'd come off then.

Have the lugs 1/2 way screwed on and drive *slowly* around your neighborhood until you hear the wheels pop loose.

Re: Wheel won't come off.
Or just spray a little WD-40 in there, wait a little while, and it should pop right off

Re: Wheel won't come off.
I got the wheels of, just some more TLC with the BFH. But then I ran into a Caliper that in no way shape or form wanted to part ways with the car. I have them soaking in WD40 right now and will spary it again tonight and tomorrow and try again wednesday if I have more time.

Re: Wheel won't come off.
WD40 worked for me when my wheel was stuck on. Make sure you clean the lugs so the lugnuts can be torqued properly.

Re: Wheel won't come off.
I havent had very good luck with WD40 over the past few years. WD40 isnt much of a rust penetrant, its more of a lubricant. Try something like knock'er'loose or Liquid wrench. They are rust penetrants and I have had MUCH better luck with those over anything else.

By a can of PB blaster and soak it good. That stuff works awesome on rusty parts. WD-40 can not compare as it is only a minor lubricant.

Re: Wheel won't come off.
Hey bro, I know how that goes..for some reason, there is rust all the time on those hubs. Tell ya what..if you want, you can bring your car up to my work tomorrow, around 3ish or so, and I'll get that damn wheel off for ya. I'll also grind the hub clean of the rust, so the problem goes away. If you want to, pm me, and i'll give ya my celly number..

Re: Wheel won't come off.
shit, I just noticed you are like FAR north huh? No where near brooklyn park saturn eh? dang..sorry. Just spray some major lub, let it sit, and spray more. Leave 1 lugnut on the wheel, but loose. That way, when the wheel is eventually knocked loose the rim doesn't go flying through the air. Use either a rubber mallet, or a ball pein hammer. Even better, use a sledghammer, with a long handle for leverage. It sounds rather crude, but trust me, it works. I used it all the time when i worked at tires plus.

Re: Wheel won't come off.
I have to put in my two cents on the subject . The rust build up sucks and on alloy rims the electrolysis corrosion sucks too. I have had a lot of rims stuck on the cars over the years, if I cant get the wheel off with my hands, than I put on one nut like five threads so the wheel does not go flying, give it a kick, if that does not work than I move right to the biggest pry bar and line it up on the lower ball joint and rim and pull like a man.
The End

Re: Wheel won't come off.
Yeah I am not too far away from BC but I shoudl be good once the bolts on the calipers have some time to free up. I love these simple rotor and pad jobs. New Pads and rotors for the beast and fuck everything else right now.
