Well, the most recent stock S2K puts down 210hp @ 8000 rpm and 146lb-ft @ 6400. A stock 1G puts down 195hp @ 6000 rpm and 203lb-ft @ 3000. The only reason we have more torque is because of when the turbo hits, then it raises fairly well throughout the small rpm range(compared to the S2K). And VTEC Hondas keep making power to redline, DSM's usually don't.
Just about any day of the week a stock S2K wouldn't have much a problem with walking away from a stock 1G, especially on the freeway. And the S2K stock runs the 1/4 in about 14.4. You would need to open up the factory restrictions on a DSM to get that, then of course if you added the minor bolt ons it would be a whole different game. For a NA four cylinder the S2K is as good as it gets, especially being overengineered as it is.
In summary, the S2K isn't just another Honduh, it rocks. Throw a Jackson Racing on there and there you go. Have fun.

The S2k is quicker than most people give it credit for, but it by no means a drag car (I don't want it to be, that wasn't the point of the car. With that said, high 13's in the low 100's are possible with a bone stock car). The 2000 is the engine displacement (2 liters...well, actually ~1997cc so close enough). Even though the 04-05 S2k's are using a 2.2L engine, they kept the same name since only North America is getting this engine, Europe, Asia, etc. are still getting the F20C. The 2000 doesn't stand for the MY it was released since there was a '99 MY everywhere but North America.

There is some decent info in the above post, but also some false info:
1) You're comparing the S2k's WHP/tq to a 1G's factory rated crank HP/tq, not a fair comparison. I doubt a stock 1G puts down anything more than 170 at the wheels.
2) It would take a pretty bad driver to not get anything better than a 14.4, even most magazines get low 14's with owners pulling high 13's.
3) Jackson doesn't make a supercharger kit for the S2k, only Comptech and Vortech currently are making mass-production kits.

Damn it....stupid Bostons pizza making people sick. We started on our way to KK about 8:45, but the stomach/pizza was having none of it. Did the 'Quest make the journey?

Re: Porky's and KK this week
Yeah it was a good turn out last night and great weather to boot. There were a lot of people there that I didn't know but I got to share some FWD Laser info with Unreal (Cory) which was cool, and I even sold him on some suspension for his car I think.

I thought I was looking at crank vs. crank. That impresses me even more.

I figured as much, but didn't want to make a comment without having hard evidence to back it up.

Re: Porky's and KK this week
Stock 2.0l S2000s that I have dynoed put down 200whp. Stock 1Gs should put down around 165-170whp, but a 100% stock 1G is a very rare thing around here.

Re: Porky's and KK this week
Stock S2k's put down 200-210 on Dynojet dpending in what year the car is. 00-01 are generally 200-205, 02-03 are 205-210 due to a remapped ECU, and 04-05 are closer to 210 with more torque. They also keep gaining power for the first 10-12k miles as the engine fully breaks in.

Re: Porky's and KK this week
The weather is looking good for Thurs so I'm thinking we get some *edit* action in! I'll arrive at KK around 10:45 after work with plans on heading to *edit* around 11. Craig, I expect to see you there to try out your new suspension.
