Re: Deadmau5X: MOAR Mods 'N Stuff
So EM swap was put on hold since Kracka's car took a xfer case dump. Hopefully it'll be good as new by the end of next week. Then we can get back to business, otherwise we may have to do the testing on my car.
In other news, I got new brake pads put on. Went with RB ET500s. Pretty simple install. No issues. Bedded in and ready to stop on a dime!

Re: Deadmau5X: MOAR Mods 'N Stuff
Finally got around to doing more work on deadmau5X. Kracka and I tackled the exhaust manifold today and didn't really run into any issues other than it took a while to pull the manifold off.
Also managed to change out the stock downpipe and installed the Cobb downpipe. Not too difficult to change just the downpipe.
Going to the auto show next weekend, but the weekend after will be IM/TB swap along with a fuel pump install and then final tune!
Stay Tuned Gents!!

Re: Deadmau5X: MOAR Mods 'N Stuff
In about 8 hours as of the timestamp of this post, I'll be over at Kracka's and we're going to finish off deadmau5X (can be referred to as DMX from now on if you so wish ). Mil.Spec ported intake manifold and throttle body will be going on. Also need to do an oil change as it's about 500 miles or so before it's scheduled, but since it's going on the dyno tomorrow, going to go ahead and do that too. We hope to be done between 12:00 and 1:00. I'm schedule to be at Cobb at 3:00pm. So we will have plenty of time!
Afterwards it's off to Cobb for a fuel pump install and finally get DMX tuned! I was wanting to get a Cobb fuel pump kit but I don't think they ever got any in stock. I planned for this and went with MAP's 255 Walbro kit. It's pretty nice. The Walbro fits quite snug in the housing MAP made. So Cobb will be installing that as Kracka saw the install when Cobb did his and told me "Fuck that. Let Cobb do it. I don't want to mess with it." So...Cobb is doing it, lol!
Currently my car is sitting at 343whp and 358wtq. After all is said and done, I should be right around where Kracka's numbers are at 360whp and 370wtq. It should be quite exciting! I will try and post an update tomorrow night after all is done.

I helped Scheides with his pump tonight, god damn did they make that shit obnoxious. It's almost like they don't want you taking it apart or something

Man up and DIY! It's not too bad, its not like I was bleeding within the first 30 seconds or anything..... :P On the flip side, moar fuel iz gut! I'm happy with my MAP kit; I went with the DW300 pump though.

I suppose that'd be funny if it were true. The only shop involved with the fuel system (Full Blown) was responsible for half of the problems. The entire fuel system currently in the car was installed by me. There was assistance in certain areas by simulatedwood, scheides and Shane but I think it's fair to say that I own it.
I bet I know more than most shops do about the X fuel system.

For how little Cobb charges for the install it's not worth it, I'd rather spent that time eating tacos!

Re: Deadmau5X: MOAR Mods 'N Stuff
IM/TB swap was relatively painless. We finished the whole job (with an oil change as well) from about 8:30 - 12:00. Not a bad job at all.
Currently at Cobb (they have wifi!) and fuel pump was installed just fine. Calvin put that in a lot faster than I thought because I was sitting in the lobby talking to a few of the guys here and the next thing I know...I hear the dyno going. So I'll have the results of it all in an hour or so I'd say!
So just to recap mods for this round:
PPI Extreme Ported Exhaust Manifold
Mil.Spec Ported Intake Manifold
Mil.Spec Ported Throttle Body
Ceramic Coated Cobb Shorty Downpipe
AMSoil Air Filter
Numbers from previous dyno run: 343whp 358wtq
Stay tuned for the final update later!

Re: Deadmau5X: MOAR Mods 'N Stuff
Final numbers are in!
355whp and 361wtq!!
Overall impressions are that it's fantastic. You can't even tell that anything was done to the car, yet it's more powerful. It's not the super awesome numbers that Kracka's car posted with the same modifications but those midrange gains are just awesome. Money well spent!
Here's the dyno chart which compares it to my previous tune!
