Are you using the E98 just for the talon? Or does your evo get that shit too! Also how much is a drum of that stuff?

It's to mix real E85 for the beast evo, until the real thing is available in late May or early June. I will always run E98 in the dsm.

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects

Out of curiosity where did you buy the E98 from? Sort of looks like MAP in the picture.

And were they your drums or did you buy them full of fuel?

I might be tempted to try E98 in my car when I'm home in the summer just because.

Pretty sure from MAP, and they come in barrels of their own AFAIK.

Haha I agree. I just opened one up yesterday and it smells like I was transferring vodka into the car.

Yep, it was MAP. There is a drum deposit charge tacked on too, so yes the fuel comes with the barrel. I would only use it if you need to, 98 percent of people only need 85. Unless you have a setup that is capable of sky high boost, like 40+psi then 98 provides a knock safety factor.

Assuming we have the good E85, not winter blend crap. I like the idea of mixing e98 with 93 octane to make e85.

My car should be capable of the same sort of thing as yours once it comes back

Just don't mix your own E85 and expect the E85 from a pump to be anything like it.

Kind of like brewing your own beer and then getting store bought stuff, DIY Alcohol is always better

Was that a 4th gear pull? Also forgot to ask yesterday, what kind of transfer pump are you using for the e98 barrels?

The pull was in 3rd. And I use this pump:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/30-55-Gallon...aad219&vxp=mtr

Works better than what you would think!

Re: Mark's Evo IX MR Winter Projects

Its a load based dyno. It uses a electric eddy current brake to load the car. You set a ramp rate which is how fast the car accelerates. You want to slow things down to get a better sample rate for tunning.

Car sounds good man, was shoot out mode?

Thanks John. The 656 was uncorrected. The shootout mode number was something like 765whp, close to the 771WHP it made on MAP's dyno.
