LOL, i don't blame people for thinking that, but it will be on the road for the spring cruise unless something catastrophic happens which I don't envision.
My initial plans are for a "true" 650whp at hopefully 25-26psi, not just a VD plot that says it, I think i am close with the EF4 but hard to say for sure.
Then if the setup is working well, I plan to shoot for 700whp pending my fuel pump scenario.
The T4 Twinscroll 6266 has a 1.0A/R and a few other bigger ones yet to try down the road too.

I was just ribbing you, but well this 600whp beast has been together and I've only seen it do work 1 night in the last few years.
That new setup sounds bomb, Tom likes that housing, but I'm curious if its too small for the top end.
Has anyone else done TS T4 with this motor? Seems like it spools turbos fast as hell already.
|
I am planning for sub 4k spool on this setup. The guy running a t4 TS 6466 is spooled by low 4k range on his with a 2.0L, I think the smaller A/R, smaller turbo and displacement will really spin this up fast. We will see though.
I am not trying to break a power record, that is why I went with the 6266 for now to keep myself from trying to do 900+ (for now lol).

That sucks. I've loved the 3 I went on.
Murlo that will be a crazy long powerband if does that. I'm interested in the top end on your car, it seems like these X's just keep on making power at the top of the RPM range.

Cruises = 5-6 good solid hours of awesome driving, racing, eating, BSing, then get wasted and have awesome stories to tell.
Auto-X = stand there and watch other people drive for 6 hours, drive for 8 minutes, stand there for 6 more hours, drive for 8 minutes. Go home sunburned.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Sub 4k spool to 25psi on a 2.2L with a 6266? Geebus those motors must have been made with gypsy tears, I think my 3.0L would barely do that.

I will be happy with anything as good as my EF4 honestly, and I think that is possibly.
This guys t4 TS 6466 on a 2.0L has similar spool to my EF4
So I have to imagine all the factors I listed will get me to 4k spool at least.

With a good mix of lurking around listing to the endless stream of inane drivel based on internet forum group-think vs empirical data.
Sorry to crap up your thread, Dave, I am sure you're car will posses all the right statistics when you are done with it.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Yeah looks like 25psi around 4150rpm or so. Should be a pretty sick power band.
I'm also an advocate for Divided T4 setups, so thumbs up from me on going that route. You could try one of those QSV's for even quicker spool!

You guys left out constant judgement and trash talking about who's better than who!
This is my new favorite thread. Oh, the evoX talk is cool too
Dave, what will you have planned for long-term maintenance on the engine, trans, etc then? The kind of numbers you are talking about are going to be murderous on bearings, gears, and axles.

He'll blow another engine, claim Mitsu is shit b/c it can only handle 4x the factory output, talk about buying a Vette....then come back with a new engine and 900whp ![Wink](http://www.dsmstyle.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

At least the man is consistent. That has to count for something.

I've talked to several people about tearing into my engine around 20k miles to check on bearings. I think I will drop the oil pan at the end of this season for a bearing check, if they look like shit I will asses further. I'd like to pull the motor myself this next time around if I need to, so we will see how that goes too.
Gears/axles/drivetrain etc will all be fix it when it breaks in my book. I haven't seen enough data showing anything worth upgrading before hand is worth it. The X trans and drivetrain seem awesome. But when stuff breaks I will probably send mine off to Jack's. I'll also probably put a mechanical diff in the rear if that goes too.

The real reason he won't go is that cruises are fun and Brown only likes to be cranky! At an AutoX he can stand around and bitch with other guys about the guys leading the pack being cheaters, etc so he will be in heaven! ![Wink](http://www.dsmstyle.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Gee idk, every single auto x that's not a test and tune?
If you would just come on a cruise you would see why they are the funnest events of the year. Instead of just talking some crazy shit that doesn't make any sense.
