I told you that I would get it back to you on the cruise. If you need it sooner, just let me know.

I don't need the helmet anymore, but thanks for letting me use it!

If you really do want to head to MAP with us let me know, its a haul from our area now so we don't go often haha. Just text me and I will text you when we plan on going. Figuring out how to secure it is the trick, but the tahoe should have room.

Got to lay eyes on this thing last night and a nice long gentle cruise back to the city from MAP's new 'fortress of solitude.' I have to say this kit looks super nice end-to-end and MAP's new shop has transformed into something out of this world!

Car fires up and drives pretty nice for the rough scaling for the 2150s it has on it. With some work I'm sure it'll do just dandy. Good luck murlo!

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Well started tuning tonight, maybe went through 20-25 revision over 5-6 hours. Ugh, worn out after that and working all day.

Trying to get this turn ready for the cruise.

Well, went to start WOT testing...no bueno. LEAN as shit. The lean kind that basically points to a fuel pressure issue. Jon thinks I ruptured the in tank fuel hose, he said he has seen some cars do it 4 times before. So I am going to drive to work and around tomorrow to get the gas level low and pull the assembly.

If anyone is bored tomorrow, and wants to review my fuel setup with me to see if we can figure out WTF, feel free to drop by.

I will probably be home around 6pm and start playing with shit.

Where is it at power-wise, and how much boost? Seems odd to just have it split suddenly.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

You should get a fuel pressure gauge on there, that is the second most useful gauge for tuning besides a wideband. It's easy to cover up fuel pressure issues in a tune on purpose or accident and hard tell when it's happening. More advanced standalones and many of the Ford ECUs use a fuel pressure input also to be able to modify fuel injector pulse width to compensate for non-linear fuel pressure problems.

Are you running a single or dual pump system now? What you are describing often happens when 1 pump in dual pump setup fails.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

I had a similar issue happen last year when my alternator started dying on the dyno. Towards the top of a pull we would get a huge voltage drop that would cause fuel pressure to drop a lot.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Not running anything for power, getting into boost at 10psi it goes crazy lean and pop pop pop and backfiring, jolting etc.

I have a fuel pressure gauge in the engine bay, but not in the cabin.

I am running a single wally 400 e85 version hardwired to battery voltage now.

Found some oil and maybe coolant mixed in on my garage floor today

UGh...I don't know what the hell to do now...cruise readiness looking not good. Its coming from the passenger side of the car. at least that is where it is located under the car, who knows where its dripping from.

That coupled with unknown fuel pressure issues (we think), and then my boss yelling at me for even taking vacation for how busy we are and wondering why I am not working 50+ hour weeks...FUCK ME! Helluva week...

Shane, don't suppose there is a chance in hell you guys have an hour or two to help me look at this stuff this week? Tonight even? lol I have friday off for vacation and could stop by too. Just tossing it out there. I haz money to pay
