LOL, I don't think that would be very fair lol. He has a bigger turbo, E98, lighter car and more displacement and DR's. I'd for sure do a fun run when I get it where i want it.

Soon, hopefully tomorrow see below.

Glad to hear it's running better though!
That port is now open with my new catch can setup, if you look at the new black braided hose coming off the AN fitting on the valve cover right above it, there was a line from there to the blue hose part, so yes PCV.

Update:

Pulled fuel pump assembly, god i hate squishing back there (especially since i tweaked my back yesterday somehow working at the evo noob mod day, I was in serious pain lol but want this thing working), it looks pretty good, no visible leaks. I was by myself and its late so I am waiting tomorrow to put it together. Jon says if I prime the fuel line and no leaks, its time for the mas boosters! So tomorrow i will have a buddy or my brother turn the key while i watch it with it semi out the tank.

Hopefully tomorrow I get to try something besides wastegate pressure

looking good! I would just say if you have the sending unit out just pick up some submersible fuel line and replace the rubber lines in the tank and be done with it.

Can't wait to hear your results!

The submersible e85 line is expensive and not all stores have it in stock. Not to mention it is not very bendable. The stuff I have is plastic line supposedly rated to 100psi and e85 submersible and can flex. I dont' want to replace unless I have to. If I have to I will put in the big shit though.

yeah it was not very flexible and it cost me like $35 for just enough to make the two short hoses in the tank lol. But if you have plastic lines you're probably fine.

I could switch back to my Volks/RS3s, but, that would just be more dangerous for both of us since I spin them so bad.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Update:

Got the fuel assembly pulled. PUshed on the line and looked for leaks/cracks etc, nothing, looked good.

Had to wait until tonight for my brother to help out and turn the key while I watched, but you can see here, looks all good.

The only thing bubbling in there is the return pressure I think.

So I buttoned it all up and hopefully weather doesn't get too bad over the next few days so we can try some more boost!

Also few more parts came....

New bigger battery just because lol...my small battery still seems perfect, not sure why it was acting up at MAP on the dyno. But I spent 200 on this one so I am going to use it. Also my backordered fog deletes finally came in, time for more awesome looking grill!

Started to tire out now too...ugh, need to keep pushing on, have lots of little shit to do including tuning!

Glad your issue was fine, but now you must be good at pulling the pump.

I was already good at it, done it a bunch. I just hate doing it, gas gets all over, its smelly and the backseat isn't a tight spot so its not fun working there. BUt I did figure out a few quicker ways of doing things. It's only like a 30 min thing, more of an annoyance if anything.

Now I can't go tuning though as mn weather is lame....

True.

I was planning to do that tonight...need to go buy an in/lbs torque wrench and I need a new low pro jack too as my car is pretty low now. I also have to redo all my gauges as well and move to my new gauge pod. I have plenty to do...I'd just rather be driving it.

What torque range do you need in in/lb? I have one that you could borrow but it only goes from 10-50in/lb. Otherwise you can convert in/lb to ft/lb

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

I'll just buy one, need one that goes to 60in/lbs I think, for the battery terminals. I like buying tools, trying to start a good collection, can never have too many.

Thank you though for the offer.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

60in/lb is 5ft/lb solid you have a ft/lb torque wrench that goes down to 5ft/lb you could use that. A lot of people don't like buying tools so u figured I'd offer lol. And I agree you can never have too many. Not sure how much you want to spend but there are some nice electronic ones out there that do ft/lb, in/lb, NM, and torque angle. It's nice having one that does everything.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

I dunno, I just thought the idea of an 11,000rpm engine in an evo was cool lol. I would never actually buy it

I found it funny they didn't even have a website though.

There was a huge thread about it on High Boost forums, then the OP lost his balls and took all the pics down proving them to be fakes after they threatened a lawsuit.

That was my favorite thread on the internet last year!

I love how it just started out with a few people wondering why their "God" cars ran slower at the track than some fairly basic setups.

11,000 (or even higher) would be cool. But I'd look to an American racing shop who has years of proven results to build you one. They tend to have better results than photoshop in the real world.
