Re: Does Spaz like the rubber fist?

Do you have free play at the top of the clutch pedal? Does it engage low/mid/high?

Re: Does Spaz like the rubber fist?

The issue being that the work was done by Mitsu, who said they couldn't make guarantees on it. Whether that covers workmanship, I have no idea, I'd assume that if it doesn't I could easily fight for it if something was done wrong.

So you're saying to invoke the warranty through Comp Clutch, and that it should cover both labor and parts(if disc replacement is necessary)?

I'm 100% sure it's my fault because it used to hold, and now it doesn't. Doesn't mean I'll tell that to anyone calling the shots on the warranty, but still...

Clutch engagement is the same it's always been; right at mid, always the same spot.

Ceramic wheel bearings? Sounds interesting. I'll look into that.

Re: Does Spaz like the rubber fist?

If you cant warranty it and the disk is just glazed along with the Pressure plate, then just take some 1000 grit sandpaper and lightly scuff them to take off that glaze, as long as it didnt eff the disk too much you should be good, maybe this doesnt work for clutches, but Id think its worth a shot. lol

Guys, keep it above the belt here. There's a fine line between having fun and baiting/hating/slamming/flaming. This thread is just starting to make some productive headway and people gotta get all defensive/cocky.....

Re: Does Spaz like the rubber fist?

I was doing 15-20 psi pulls the same day I finished getting my new clutch put it. Hasn't slipped ever and it's an OEM clutch. Looks like someone needs to learn how to work a manual car ha.

Re: Does Spaz like the rubber fist?

First of all, your clutch is not kevlar. Secondly, why you took your DSM to a Mitsu dealer to be modified is beyond me; numerous members on this site told you to take it to one of our local performance shops since they'll actually back-up their work. Thirdly, I specifically remember telling you to not boost during clutch break-in and I'm sure the clutch came with paperwork telling you to go easy on it too (I know mine did). Anyway, good luck getting your issues fixed and I'm glad you have maintenance ahead of performance. I urge you to create a tech thread regarding your problems so you're able to get some advice that way.

Re: Does Spaz like the rubber fist?

Clutch works now.

I let it slip at full boost all the way down an onramp, and now it holds.

So yeah, it was glazed. Just not terminally.

You gotta be kidding me.

Did this whole "clutch is slipping" happen when it was snowy/icy?

Sipping = glaze

So if it was glazed before, it would still be glazed.

Nope, it happened on dry pavement. Multiple times.
