Re: Dave's Evo X Build

Murlo,

Your setup should work just fine, Have you seen some of the setups evodave has been running (I believe 10.5 with 295 width) ? I think you are pretty safe on that setup. As far as Camber goes, Jeff the alingment guy was able to eek out 2.5 degrees of camber on the fronts on my setup just flipping the blots and applying pressure on the lower control arm with a bottle jack when tightening the bolts . As for the rest of the suspension, biggest bang for you buck will be a rear swaybar. I picked up a perrin from MAP for $180. Between tires, agressive alignment, and rear sway. You will be on rails.

Yea I am not too worried. So you think hold off on the drop for now and if that then the Whiteline RCK as well since i was getting that because of the drop?

Regardless I am happy since I am finally getting rims. I am really pushing the budget, but I didn't want to buy tires to go on the stock rims again since I wanted bigger tires...and then i would have to buy more again when I got rims. So kind of the lomker attitude of while your in there, i have that too Just not quite as bad.

Alignment is something you should check up on once in a while, maintenance if you will. The bumps and bruises from driving a car thousands of miles can throw stuff out of whack more than you'd think!

High five! This is in round #1 for mods on any car I have owned, it is insane how much of a difference you get for $200 and some cussing (during install ).

On a car like this, I figure every Spring.

The hardest part on the X is dropping the exhaust. It'd be a 10 minute job otherwise.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build

If your planning on a drop, I think the roll center kit is a must have. I know alot people like less wheel gap, it dosent really bother me much. So if your on a budget, Id say hold off, I have been really happy were I am at without a drop and performance has been great. Id would suggest alignment from Jeff for sure any way you go, it was about 80 bucks if I remember correctly and it was soo worth it.

Let me know if you plan on selling the stock rims. I could use another set for test n tune days since I am on a "having a baby" budget.

PM me an offer and I will consider it. I will probably be very tempted but this would be something I would probably regret later, lol.

LOL... right on ..scheides.. The sway bar change was night and day difference for this car. By far the best 200 I ever spent. As far as sway bar install goes Murlo, it is pretty darn easy, If you need help, I can always offer a hand.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build

Might of felt a little faster with just two people in there

Hopefully that WGA helped, the car does seem to hold a little more up top now with it. Felt real good on the way home.

Star specs come next week and then i put them on. My car is going to look like a monster truck for a while until i lower it etc.

But oh well, i need to get off my winter tires...it's no good.

Those rims look so good, can wait to see them on the car. Discount do well on the star specs?

Eh, it was 250 a tire, but they are big tires so it was going to be pricey. Still way cheaper than buying new OEM tires though

Sounds competitive with the online prices. If you want a laugh then price out a set of RE11's.

Yup they are a limited edition gunmetal RPF1. 18x10.5 with a 15 offset.

They are going to look funny until i drop it, but when that happens they will look like the shizz.
