Dealing with Phantom knock?

I was just using .90 as an example. .9 could be 12.0, who knows it's different on every car and every sensor and changes with temperature and rpm. They are only accurate at .5volts. I would shoot for .96v or higher at WOT. The 1990s do give lower volts though.

A stock 1G usually runs quite rich with the stock tune. If you have an EPROM ECU, you can run a chip that ignores the knock sensor at lower load to avoid phantom knock. But 90% of the time any knock that happens during boost is real. There are some cars though that have phantom knock all the time, but they usually have noisy built motors.

You could have a bad fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, clogged pickup, bad injector or bad MAF. Is the MAF 100% stock? If it's been hacked at all or the lower honeycomb removed, then that is going to lean the car out quite a bit.

My car is a 93. I don't actually know if the maf has been hacked. I'll have to check that.

The car does have a new knock sensor, so that shouldn't be suspect.
