Re: MBC lines

I don't think it would matter if it's hooked up to the J-pipe or the compressor housing, should be the same pressure either way. If the boost controller worked before, I'd say it was hooked up right and the problem is elsewhere.

Do you have the SSQV adjustment screw too far in so that it's leaking at higher boost levels? Is the BOV vacuum line still hooked up right?

What do you mean by it started going crazy? Won't hold boost/fades? Or doesn't limit boost and goes past 25 every time?

If it doesn't hold boost, could be a leaking problem with the SSQV. If it doesn't limit boost, the MBC could have broken, coincidentally at the same time as the BOV change.

Re: MBC lines

Mr98 your MBC is hooked up wrong(based on pic #20 in this thread). On a ball and spring MBC you need to have your pressure sorce in-line with your ball and spring, so a joe p style (what mr98 has) would have the boost sorce go into the bottom, in line with the ball and spring, the pressure then pusses the ball out of the way and goes out the side and to the waste gate. The Turbo XS the ball and spring are mounted on the side and the bleader is on the top with the waste gate line going out the bottom.

Yes, so the pic in post #20 was wrong then.

Re: MBC lines

Yep, I just looked at mine, that's how it's hooked up. John is correct.

Wow, looks like my first MS paint picture was correct, woot!

Re: MBC lines

Man that blows! Those lines were hard as tits to get on and off. How come everything seems to be fine the way it is? Shouldn't there be a problem lol

Re: MBC lines

It should only be running factory boost right now since it can push the ball out and then its w/g regularly.

Re: MBC lines

Pushit is correct. Side port goes to the wastegate and bottom port goes to the pressure source (turbo, intake manifold, etc.)
