Re: Holset Turbos

Now, what injectors do I need with E85? I was eyeing up those new FIC Bluemax 1650s... Any suggestions?

Re: Holset Turbos

I'd get the largest injectors that your tuning program can accurately control. At the same time, I wouldn't over do it and get extremely larger ones then you need for drivability sake. With that setup, you may be able to do fine with their 1450 or 1550's. They have a calculator on their site that is handy.

Congrats on the turbo though. It'll be nice to have someone local running one who we can see results from first hand, rather then hear say from other various forums.

Re: Holset Turbos

1600's should do you fine. I see people with bigger setups still running 1600's on E85.

Re: Holset Turbos

I've had zero problems idling the 1600's (even without my FAIV hooked up) I actually wish I had done 1850's for more headroom. I was hitting 36% IDC on a puny 14b with E85 on my 1600's at 11.5:1 (gas scale) so I have to wonder if you max out the airflow on an Hx40 if anything less than 1600's will suffice.
I didn't catch what pump(s) you're going to run?

Re: Holset Turbos

Shane (ecoli) was saying that 1350s should be good for at least 500whp on a dyno dynamics, more than enough to max out a single walbro 255. I had 1600s but went back to 1350s and I don't regret it.

I have a single walbro 255 HP. I don't plan on making enough to max out the pump; if so I'll just toss another one in tank.

I most likely will be getting Bluemax 1350's or 1650's.
