Re: Car choices

Theres a 350z for sale in coon rapids, that has a single turbo set-up, I believe he's asking 20k. I know the guy personally, and it has a lot of really good work done to it. Its never gave him any problems, and puts down about 400rwhp. Its a complete steal at that price. Im not sure how much of a dd it would be, but it would be a hell of a lot of fun to drive.

Re: Car choices

Good suggestions so far. Thanks! No rotaries though, thanks. I couldn't deal with the piss poor gas mileage, horrible oil consumption, sub par performance, and shitty apex seals. One thing I would like to do with whatever car I get is to try my hand at autox, so it has to be able to corner at least somewhat well, so that kinda puts out the GTO (plus, they look kinda ghey to me) and other sedans. I dunno if I could see myself driving a Porsche, insurance would likely be very high, and if it ever broke, I'm sure parts would cost a fortune.

So far, my list of cars to look at goes like this. In no particular order:
Genesis coupe
S2k
350z
Sky Redline
Crossfire
328i/330i

Re: Car choices

Skip the crossfire, my uncle has one and it is nothing impressive at all. I would toss the BMW Z3 on there though if you like the looks.

For $20k, I'd probably do the Vette. Or maybe a bargain basement NSX.

Re: Car choices

Let's not forget that I would be driving this car in the winter, and I don't think the torque of a vette or the low ground clearance of an NSX would be very good in the snow. Plus, the interior of a c5 vette is absolute shit.

I agree with the list that everyone has put forward so far.

Now its up to you to go drive some cars and see what you like.

Re: Car choices

personally I like the sky redline it has decent power stock your only issue with it is the lack of a trunk. My father and I looked at one and you could fit a set of clubs in it(sales guy owned one and said it was possible) but with the top down there is no room for anything.

or my choice would be a bmw if I where to be looking rwd

Re: Car choices

E36 M3, Genesis Coupe, G35/350Z, in my mind those are the only cars that really have everything you want. The BMWs are awesome in the snow, surprisingly. Their traction control is great! I personally love the looks of the G35 coupe over the 350z, it's that damn stupid door handle on the Z, G35 = classy/350z = AZN white trash lol.

FYI, no traction control on the 95 M3's. They do work just fine in the snow. I have a couple bimmers if you want to see what they feel like.

Re: Car choices

I wouldn't want to try to drive a 350Z in the snow even with snow tires. An NSX at least won't rust in the winter. I would take a 300ZX TT over a 350Z.

Agreed, 350s are pretty insane trying to drive in the winter time.

haha if it wasn't for how plain the front end of the G35 looked (I hate the front bumper and that stupid wide grille) I would really think about that car.
And Craig, that M3 you posted is a pretty sweet deal, if only it would still be for sale in 4 or 5 months when I'm ready to buy.
