Re: big bore kit for 420a
She's right on the Neon build. And the 4g63's dominance. But you get more at Wal Mart.....everyone knows that Tauni.
BTW: I actually would build another 420a. It would be a gutted Neon for a daily driver. It'd be a cheap/fun car.

The maxed out stewart warner boost gauge at 40psi. I remember that avatar.
Definitely badass.
Carefull what you ask for kid. The 420a isnt a bad engine, it just cant handle what the 4g63 can. Stock for stock anyway.

Yes, I made 531fwhp on a Dyno Jet with stock internals and drove the car for a couple years. I made numerous pulls of 40+psi on the dyno.

I witnessed these pulls, as did a small handful of other people also.

Re: big bore kit for 420a
In the end he can do what he wants, but the fact is there is a better option out there for making power if he would just consider the idea of a better starting platform.

Should I care? I don't know you so... I didn't say anything wrong anyways. NT... Turbo, they're both DSM's. The guy said you could put down 214 with $300 in a DSM... Just seemed silly to me

Re: big bore kit for 420a
Techically, the 2G NT is not a DSM, but luckily for you this is now "Mitsu"Style. FYI, mouthing off to Blizz won't get you real far on this board

Re: big bore kit for 420a
I didn't ever mouth off to anyone in the first place. Just got accused, then I defended myself.
I know "technically" n/t's aren't DSM, but my 95 NT came with the DSM sticker from the factory so shove it!
I'm not a fan of whoring up threads, but it sure seems that's happened by me with the help of a few others so if some posts need to be deleted or edited feel free.. But I say we keep this thing on topic for the sake of the original poster?

Re: big bore kit for 420a
All threads on this board get whored
Here is what I have to add to this thread: If you want to have a fast DSM, save yourself tons of effort and costs by selling the NT and buying a nice GST/X.

Welcome to mitsustyle.com, we are not accusing you of nothing. This is the way we are on this forum. Most of us know each other. We love fast women and fast cars. That include tauna too. She loves fast women she just drives a slow car. Just crack open a beer and enjoy this site. Trust me you won't get disappointed and yes we loved to whore. To bad your in Houston. I would of like to see your setup and maybe even give you a fun race with a slightly modded DSM. Just calm down a bit. We are just stating the facts because we have been in DSM for along time. Some of us has been in it since the early 90's and some of us just got into it.

Re: big bore kit for 420a
I will be back up in the good ol' MN in December. I'd be happy to meet up with all you guys. I think it would be kind of fun to see how I fare. Keep in mind, I am running stock injectors, no tune, and 6 psi lol. Because of my injectors being stock, my fuel pressures see excess of 100 psi haha. Someday soon hopefully I will get some bigger ones and an SFMU.
Oh, and "technically", none of the 2g eclipses/talons are DSM's either in that case S2K. DSM officially ended in 93 or 94 I believe.

Re: big bore kit for 420a
Oh and Nash, what kind of times did you make with the car at 40psi?
EDIT
Oh and Tauni, our 2g NT cars actually have more in common with an Avenger/Sebring than a Neon. I don't know why most people just say it is basically a neon. The engines are mounted reversed compared to each other as well. The Avenger and Sebring even share the same dash and most interior trim pieces with a 2g eclipse/talon.

As far as chassis, then yah, Avenger/Sebring. But those are a lot heavier than a neon. So if I was going to build a 420a, I'd stick to the neon.

I never ran the car when it was running 40psi. The car actually made less power running 40 then it did running 35.

Give me a stock Tsi and $300 and it will put down 214 whp on a dynojet easily. This is the bang for the buck that everyone is talking about.
People like what they have, it is human nature. That doesn't mean it is the best choice though. Sell the RS and get a GST/GSX!
