Re: New DD for the old lady and babies- $15k, she has 4 top runners.
^We drove a 2007 CX7, it was boring/simple clean on the inside but really lacked any personality, I didn't like that part, but it was comfy and rode good. Yeah once I learned it was a turbo 2.3, which explains its awesome response, that was enough to rule those out.
I like the 2012 CRV, felt really nice fully loaded not like a cheap honda at all.

the correct answer is 3.0 legacy in sedan or wagon form. 500k engines that need literally nothing but oil and gas.

absolutely. Early ones are cheap, newer ones are more powerful.
The car will rot around the engine and trans.

Re: New DD for the old lady and babies- $15k, she has 4 top runners.
Not sure if I ever updated this but we ended up with a 2012 Honda CRV, with full time AWD we are seeing a mixed mpg of 23-25mpg.
Love it, comfy, plenty of room for all of us, good amount of cargo room, bluetooth, back up camera, k series motor is plenty strong to merge onto the highway without getting into the go pedal too much.
Just need to get the front windows and sunroof tinted, then some remote start and alarm action and it will be complete.

I ended up doing the window tint, remote start and alarm and even some nice ass floor mats.
Totally love this thing, had a chance to drive it some more and that K motor is no fucking joke.
