I wait until my car is at full temp, which is half-way on that temp gauge.

Not sure about the IDC's, I know we had enough fuel though, as in the injectors weren't a concern, so I would think that's a maybe on the 1400's.
I believe Shane before said that 1400's were good for 540whp on his dyno, roughly.

Same. Put-put-put with slow, gentle, shifts until my car is at full operating temp. This gives my drivetrain and transmission a chance to warm up too (this is why letting the engine sit and idle then beating on it directly from the garage is a bad idea).

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
I just checked your log from the dyno day, ~82% IDC at 7500rpm and ~87% IDC at 8886rpm. 2 counts of knock @ 2900rpm on one pull, i.e. nothing.

Cool Very strange why it would be acting up on the street then ?
Glad those logs looked good, that should be enough fuel for another 25-30whp I would think, I know we can push it past 100% if needed.

Because it's being loaded differently.

Yeah, not enough for E98 though. Would probably have to bump the base. Hopefully DW figures out how to make a 1650ish injector behave on the X.

I don't see myself doing E98 ever, but who knows, maybe I will try it. If i did that I would more than likely run higher base fuel pressure to try to get it to work...but E98 seems like a pain to try and I don't think I want to stress my motor that much...not now anyway. 550whp on Shanes dyno would be cool though

Hmmmm. An Evo X that is fine on the dyno, but has fuel problems that cause knock on the street, where have I heard this before.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
Looks like the oil pan was leaking a bit. They are fixing it now. Then I think they are going to bleed the clutch again.
EDIT:
Oil pan sealed now again now, clutch bleed again, we will see how they hold up.

Ah, yea they don't seem to go as smooth as the 8/9's...but people have had a lot more time to iron out the 4g63 than the 4b11...we will get to easy street someday too
The oil pan was a used one and was bent slightly in a corner, so they reshaped it and resealed it...so should be good to go now.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog
X's will get to the point where dsm's, 8/9's are... the point where things like leaks and things needing to be fixed constantly are normal/acceptable on a daily basis.. That's just Mitsu's Style.

Oh joy, I cannot wait, lol
For some X's they are there already, you just have to mod enough stuff with really complicated setups

If tonight's work doesn't pan out should I go with one big fuel pump or add another? lol. From what I've read, parallel 044's is the tits setup. I would probably just do a Magnafuel though.

You're telling me my car's supposed to break and leak things? Huh...
I think it's broken, everything's fine!
