Its tapered on purpose, and its not all about peak torque, its powerband and sustained torque that are "FTW".
Again, stock block here, with weak ass noodle rods.

Hoping...10's.
Realistically anything in 11's will make me happy. Even more realistic, getting to the track and driving down it will make me happy whilst not breaking.

Re: Borg Warner Turbos
Me too, I'm hoping for 10s but low 11s would make me happy, should be completely feasible. I should make 525/500 at map with this setup, turbo will limit everything

A good day at the track is driving the car back on the trailer!
I think it will have a high 10 in it with a good short track!

Maybe if you own a trailer/tow rig lol
High 10 is longer term goal. short term, get car running again and get mid 11's. Then try for good time when I learn to drive it better at the track.

Re: Borg Warner Turbos
Been a long time since I wrote anything in here, but figured it's worth an update.
Since the launch of the EFR line, BW has also now launched their SX-E line. The SX was their off the shelf standard turbo offerings, and what many came to know as the Sxxx series turbos (i.e. S256, S362, S366, etc). The SX-E (SX Enhanced) is their new standard turbo line. It builds off the SX line and the EFR line. They used a lot of the R&D that went into the EFR compressor wheels, and applied them to the new comp wheels for the SX-E turbos. The SX-E also got a totally new center section with a new bearing design (still journal). It also got updated compressor covers that are supposed to be more optimized than the SX line. They also got new turbine wheels (inconel). The SX exhaust housings still work, so the SX-E turbos are sold as super-cores (no exhaust housing) as they will swap right into your existing housing for anyone upgrading their SX turbos. So in a nutshell, they're basically a half breed of an SX and an EFR. And the best part, they are still extremely affordable! And anyone happy with the old SX turbos (which are still a great turbo), they are an even better value now that they sell for less. See this link below, you can see how affordable these SX-E's are ($700 price range from Jegs for a Super-Core, add $150 for a turbine housing and you're still under $1000).
http://www.jegs.com/p/BorgWarner/Bor...40656/10002/-1
Here's a little tick list of the improvements of the SX-E over the SX
- New improved billet compressor wheels (based off EFR compressor wheels)
- New compressor cover that was supposedly more optimized.
- New center section (new 360* bearing design over old 270*) which I've 'heard' has drastically improved their responsiveness
- New improved turbine design.
- Turbine Housings remain the same from the SX line.
- Pre machined spot for comp wheel speed sensor.
So I've been looking at these for several months, talking back n forth with Geoff from Full Race more than he probably wished to. Today I made 'a mistake' lol. I picked up one of the 8776 turbos from them (6467 in PTE speak).
My goal is to have the car running this spring. And sometime eventually swap this turbo on and try my best to do a before and after dyno. Talking with Geoff, we're predicting very similar spool, but with much better top end. How much who knows, but I wouldn't be surprised to see almost 100hp more. Limiting factor for me though might be my .91 Exhaust housing, may prove to be a bit of a choke on this turbo, but we'll see.

Re: Borg Warner Turbos
Great write up, thanks for the info! If I decide to go t3 I would definitely go BW. Would love to see the Lexus in action!

That's what I ran on my dsm. S362 in a BEP t3 housing. That was a long time ago.

Haha great choice! What's your goals? I'm hoping I can get high 700's, and 140+ traps.

Looking for around the same, 700's with low 10s at least.

Re: Borg Warner Turbos
Nice. I will say the results I've seen on supras with these turbos are sort of all over the place. Mainly the 66 & 69mm version though. I still think PTE has the edge on HP for the size, but I personally still prefer the BW built like a brick shit house stuff for my own personal reasons.

Re: Borg Warner Turbos
BW is the shit. My new Borg turbos flow 50% more than my old Garretts with quicker spool. Can't complain about that.

Re: Borg Warner Turbos
Cool, i personally went with a bw sxe 364.5 so far so good had to send it back for some minor oil burning, fixed and on its way back already 30 psi moves pretty good tho spool isnt bad either at all!

Re: Borg Warner Turbos
Well might as well update this with my dyno graph. It's actually pretty similar to the graph I posted earlier of a 2JZ with the same turbo.
SC300 2JZGE NA-T
S300SX 84-75 (61mm) / 0.91AR T4TS
30psi tapering off by redline.
709hp / 665tq
