OBD II scanner works great!

I ordered an OBD scanner on ebay about a week ago and it just came in the mail this Wednesday. Works better than expected, wouldn't recommend this if you don't have an android phone or bluetooth laptop. You can download a free app on the android market called torque. It reads all the OBD protocols this unit can send out. Checks faults and clears them. Very happy.

Really? I was in the market for a scanner a few months ago, but never got around to buying one. Have Android, should I buy this?

Seems to be a bunch of variations, is this the same unit?:

Re: OBD II scanner works great!

It looks like an older one but it is the elm 327, I'd find one thats v1.5 just in case, not all of them work. But this exact one does. I'd look for one in the states on ebay or something. Ships way faster that way but you'll spend a little more. I spent $16

Re: OBD II scanner works great!

Not sure if this link will work, but looks like most on Ebay are the v1.5:

Re: OBD II scanner works great!

I bought one of these a while back and i been reading codes on my car and friends cars too.The torque app is great but if you want all the features you have to get the paid version, 5 bucks I think. I don't have a Bluetooth laptop so what I did was buy a Bluetooth usb adapter on eBay for .12 cents free shipping and works just fine.
