Just generic fleet farm paint. Used it on the laser's wheels about a year ago and no problems at all.

I put 3 coats on it. No clear coat was used, however I might go back tomorrow and clear coat them after a nice washing.

That's pretty much how I feel about it too. lol

mike55112= For prepping, I took scuff pad and just roughed up all the area's I was going to paint. Clean them off really good once you're done prepping by blowing them off with compressed air and washing them down too. All I did to paint these was get a few cans of gloss black generic spray paint from the local fleetfarm/hardware store and applied three coats of it. Take you're time with the first coat and apply it slowly but make sure it's thick. To mask off the chrome ring I just stuck an old deck of playing cards between the chrome part and where the alloy(?) part of the wheel meet and it works very well and it beats pulling off masking tape.

You can add clear coat if you wish which is probably not a bad idea. I just got lazy/anxious.

Re: Painted the Avenger's 17's

If you're going to clearcoat them, it's best to do it right away. That way, there's no chance the base will be too dry for the clear coat to adhere to it properly. If you wait to do it, you'll have to re scuff the base, put another coat on, let it flash off, then put the clear coat on.

I don't like black with chrome lip. You should have done one solid color.
