K-Sport Clicking & Craking

Hey all,

I recently had the K-Sports put on my 92 Talon and after roughly 3500 miles I have a pronouce Click and or Crack in the front when I go over light bumps and anything that makes the suspention flex also it will do it during turning. I took it to a local shop thinking I had I big problem, and they told me that the pillow ball is shot on both the Fronts or what looks like a really cheep one that comes with the K-Sports. So I was wondering what would be the best thing to do. There are pillowballs mounts you can pick up from K-Sport. Just looking to see if antone else has had this issue, and if so what to try.

K-Sports are cheap coilovers and they have very high failure rates. Contact them and see if they'll send you new pillowball mounts.

Re: K-Sport Clicking & Craking

There is a big nut on top of the shocks, make sure that is tight. All of mine have backed off at one point and made the clunking sound.

It is the front springs making the noise. When you turn the wheel the shock body rotates but the spring does not want to turn with the body. They have a kit that is designed to fix the problem, its basically a flat roller bearing to reduce the turning friction applied to the spring.

Re: K-Sport Clicking & Craking

Yes it is the front springs, and the problem does occur when the shock body rotates in fact know that you write this that is almost exactly what the shop said it was. So a kit you say. I imagine it can be found on the K-sport site? Also I will look into the big nut on the top of the shock.
thank you for all the replys

From my understanding they don't have a kit, just a noise reduction update.
