Boost Control

Stock 1992 Eclipse has boost control untill 4500k then spikes to 20 and fuelcuts. Can't figure this out and I'm starting to loose hair. Replaced hot side thinking maybe the wastgate was bent, replaced the actuator, removed boost controller and ran strait from mani nooo good. This car is g@y any help will be great.

Thanks
Nick

Re: Boost Control

Do you have any modifications on the vehicle?

Re: Boost Control

IC pipes, Dejon super side mount MAFT blow-thru, 2.5" exhaust. Otherwise it stock. No boost leaks, actuator is hooked to the manifold no boost controller. It should be at 11psi, at 4500k it goes from a solid 10 to 20 before it fuel cuts.

Re: Boost Control

Boost creep, fix your wastegate setup or get a better o2 housing.

Re: Boost Control

I changed the hot side from a turbo that had no problem, it has a 2G O2 housing, the actuator opens at 11psi all the way while doing a boost leak test. If it is just creep what do you suggest for a fix? The wastegate flapper is ported some and I ground some of the back in order to let the flap open further.

Do you have any cheap turbos laying around I can pick up?

Thanks for the help

Re: Boost Control

Good to know stock means signifigant modification....

That's a lot of creap for that setup. Add a catalytic converter. Cheap and helpful solution.

Re: Boost Control

Yes if the turbo and manifold setup is healthy.
If the wastegate actuator is working correctly and the seat isn't cracked, pick up an 02 housing from us.
LIPP/LSE 2.5" cast stainless $259.95 and in-stock.
