Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
dude, if the injectors are bad, it could be causing your problems... Maybe you should look into what the seller told you was wrong first.
No one guaranteed that your PCV, ECU was bad. They were just giving you things to look at.
Have you actually attempted to look into this stuff? It sounds like you're in way above your mechanical ability.

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
No. Thats not the problem. I already replaced the Intake manifold. I already replaced the o rings as well as upper injector seals. The only thing i have not done yet is the ECU, PCV, and Shifter linkage. I did everything the seller told me to do. That was the 1st Thing i actually did. After that did not solve the problem. I decided to ask for some help and advice. From every one on the forum. The seller says the chip, the mass air flow, everything is in good working condition. If every thing is fine though why is it still acting up. If i could return the car i would.
I doubt that will happen though. So i will sort everything out. Until i run out of funds. Then sell the car.

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
Have you performed a compression test? If so what were the numbers? Knowing them will either allow you to point the oil burning problem towards the turbo or motor. Sounds like there's 10 different things wrong at the same time.

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
alright... I'd say at this point you should get your hands on a stock ECU and stock injectors and see how it runs with that. Keep everything simple, and build from there with mods.
Stock fuel pressure regulator? Stock pump? Maybe you should see what your fuel pressure is at.

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
I have been thinking of going that route. I talked to a few friends about it to. With quite a bit of stuff eliminated will the unchipped ecu be able to sort everything out properly? I want a stock air intake system, mass air flow sensor, cone and everything. The stock injecotrs stock ecu etc.

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
if your going that route you cant just pul the chip, cause then there would be no tune at all in the ecu. You will need another ecu or find the original chip for it. if your going that route i might have a spare stock chip

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
If you could put in stock injectors, a stock ECU, and a stock MAS, that would help a lot with troubleshooting it.

Fantastic idea. You can prolly get all the parts for under $100. Get known good and specificly stock stuff and you'll eliminate all of the above as problems.

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
Yeah, Rochester is quite a ways. The fact a few things have been eliminated in the car wont interfere with the stock settings at all then?

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
Lol Funny! No well yes most of the time I am online. I DON'T HAVE A LIFE NO MORE IT ENDED AFTER I PICKED THIS 1G UP.......I MEAN WHAT DO YOU EXPECT LOL! I use my lap top for every single class in school. so i always have a mitsu style tab open. Which i check if not obvious frequently. Plus it is my Home page.
What i meant by things eliminated are:
-FIAV Eliminated
-Emissions Eliminated
-Catalytic Converter Eliminated (the cat could cause i little problem i believe, but the computer should adjust for it?

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
You'll be fine putting in a stock ECU, MAF, and injectors for the testing. My guess is that the car will run much nicer.

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
1g's don't care about the cat being there or not, It was 95 when the OBD-II mandation came out that they had a O2 sensor after the cat. Hell my 90 doesn't even throw a CEL with no O2 hooked up. I can't remember for the life of me what the FIAV elimination even is but it should run either way, without smoking out the neighborhood especially.

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
Fiav shouldn't cause a problem, neither should the emissions. Like half the dsm's have these things eliminated without a problem. Idk of anyone I know with a 1g, that has a cat lol...so you should be fine on that.

Re: 1G Trouble shoot assistance needed
Hahah! Ok thank you very much you guys. I wish summer was just starting! We could get this thing up and running in no time! I cant drive down the Street and melt all the snow off the road!!! Because my tail is smoking so much. That DSM would be a Road Hazard Smoking everything up!
Them 1G's i guess are all about BRUTE FORCE HUH! No o2 sensor required no cat....Thats fine with me!
