Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
I wanted a turbo that would take me to my goal power levels.. I know you like the quicker spooling turbos but I think that this being ball bearing and all with better flow from the other new supporting mods it will spool simular to the journal bearing and provide more power up top

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
It will be put together once I get the will power to go outside and get it done... hopefully in about a month. And yes it will be tuned by shane!

What are your goals, I know your stated your original goals were 300, but I know that you can't keep up with too many people at that level. :
You going for 500?
My taste in turbos? 35r on 2.0s are too big that full boost after 5krpm doesn't sounds good to me, but I do love watching big turbo cars fly.

My current goal is going to be at least 500awhp on shane's dyno and shoot for low 11's high 10's if I'm lucky with good shifting and 60'. I figure ill rev to about 8,500rpms or until my power band drops off. With my 61 on my old setup my power would drop at 6,500rpms.
I will go until shane says to stop or I run out of fuel wich will prob. be around 500hp..

^Sick. I can't wait to see a lot of these cars this summer.
I just realized you and brad will have matching cars and be making about the same power. hahahahaha (evil laugh)

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Dropped off my tial wg at primo for coating on that and the 02 dump. Also, got my new fittings in from primo and swapped onto my ss fuel lines. Just have to mount the fpr on the fire wall and bolt it up so I can tighten down the smim and continue the build.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Suppose I could post this up on my own thread aswell. This was done by primo as a before when I got it from halon and then when I picked it up. Kinda funny its on the same chair at primo for both shots lol didn't try to do it.. But I think it turned out very well. I will be having the rest of my stuff ceramic coated through them aswell.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
First, I mounted the front mount after cutting out the radiator support so it will fit with the worlds smallest compressor! took forever.
Next, I installed the manifold and turbo. Then ran into a problem with one of the studs being too long!! Map built the head and put in different length's and they said it didn't leak so just kept it the way it was. Which was fine until now..... Anyways here's some pictures of the progress.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
That sucks about the manifold, at least once you get it all figured out it won't be too bad.
Is that the only one that hits? If so I'd just take the manifold off, thread a nut on the stud all the way to the head, stuff rags into exhaust ports, cut a little bit off the stud, back nut off and repeat until you get the right length.

Re: GsXtUrBo98's 2G project thread
Good work! Should be an easy fix. Also are you still using the 90 from he stock intercooler kit, that bolts into the throttle body? It was kinda janky and caused me some boost leaks so I switched to a N/T throttle body. Did you weld the bov flange to the upper intercooler pipe? or did they not cross thread on ya?

I have a N/A throttle body but was planing on using the stock one for the time being... if it causes me problems then away it goes. I just rebuilt the 2g tb so I'm kinda sunk on it but in the end maybe I will just throw on the N/A.... Also, I am running a tial bov so I had the flange welded on from them.
