Re: 1g engine bay ground locations.

Found a lot of info on grounds and how you actually really can't have two meny... but what I needed to find was where the stock ground locations were for a 1g, with some searching on tuners I found that the intake manifold to fire wall and transmission to passenger side frame near the coolant overflow bottle were the only actual ground spots,

also found that meny of our connections threw out the engine harness act as a type of ground as well.
I have herd of guys installing more grounds and running them from the valve cover etc.. and have noticed an increased performance in there electronics "brighter lights, no dimming and a few others" and supposedly a gain in hp and torque "no proof was ever given on this lol"

The reason I asked originally was I purchased my car as a shell and had nothing in the engine bay.. hope this might help someone.

Re: 1g engine bay ground locations.

All jokes aside I DO NOT believe in free hp from grounds!!! Just to get that out there lol I'm not 17 anymore with my first car haha, was just posting my findings take it or leave it wasn't sure if he was joking or not when goodheart asked my findings so I posted this anyhow.
I do believe in the whole better grounding better electronics thing though cause that actually makes sense.

Re: 1g engine bay ground locations.

Intake manifold to the firewall and tranny to the chassis is good enough for engine ground.

There is a lot of debate about that, some have the same idea as you, and some add a few more with proven positive results, I myself will probably add one more and make them bigger like turbotalon1g did.

Just make sure you're getting good ground to the metal.
