1g/2g case cover.

I've heard of people using 2g case covers on 6 bolt blocks to "fix" the misfire problem... But does anyone know if a 6 bolt case cover will work on a 7 bolt?

The reason I ask is I got a 7 bolt motor for really cheap, I posted a thread about this awhile back, eagle rods, ross pistons and so forth... Now I have a 6 bolt with the BS's eliminated and planned on doing the same thing with the 7 bolt. Just wondering if it was possible to use my 6 bolt case cover that is already modified so I dont have to screw with it. Also, I would be able to use my 6 bolt oil pan which is already modified for a braided AN return line.

Thanks...

Jake

Re: 1g/2g case cover.

Oil pans are different. Front cover is different as well. i believe its that magnusmotorsports way of 6bolt swap that used the 7 bolt front case but you have to drill and fill holes. Its not that hard to do the BS elimination. Just get a kit and put it in.

Re: 1g/2g case cover.

Well I know what is different and what not... But since you have to change some things on the 7 bolt cover to get it to work on a 6 bolt, shouldnt a 6 bolt cover work on a 7 bolt?

There really isnt anywhere around here that does good TIG welding and I'm not just going to "plug" the front balance shaft hole with a freeze plug like Magnus does. There is something about it that I just dont trust. The rest of it is done, just wondering if I can use the case so I dont have to drive a ways to get the 7 bolt cover welded up.
