OK, Due to the high compression of my motor (190 across all 4)

and the concensious being that it's from carbon build up.

MCCC was brought to my attention. And before I go throughing fluid into my motor.

I just wanted to know if anyone has used this. What tips they have. And where they got it at?


From what I read/understand this is a 4 step process:

Parts need:
-2 cans of MCCC
-New Set of Spark Plugs
-Oil and filter for Oil change


Step 1:
Can 1 is used to spray through the PCV hose. while the car is at idle.

Questions about step 1:
-What is the spray procedure like? (do I pause or just spray the whole can?, etc)
-How long do I let the car run for? (once the cans empty do I turn the car off? continue let it run?)


Step 2:
With car turned off, Pull all 4 spark plugs, and spray 1/4 of the 2nd Can into each cylinder and let sit for 24hrs?

Questions about step 2:
-I read 3 different sit times? (what is the best recomondation of time to let sit? ie: does it work better the longer you let sit?)


Step 3:
-Remove fluid from All Cylinder to prevent hydrolock.
-Put Old Spark Plugs in
-Idle car till smoke stops (around 20 minutes)


Step 4: after smoke stops
-Change Oil&Filter
-Change Spark Plugs




Anything else I need to know? Should I do a compression test afterwards? do I drive the car around during the smoking period or do I just let idle?

Step one:
Seemed somewhat worthless for me. You should have another person to help you do it though. You disconnect the pcv hose and spray it in while someone keeps the car from dieing with their foot on the gas. You can keep spraying. Your finger will get tired as it takes a while. You will notice carbon (black smoke) coming out of your exhaust. After the can is done, you are done.

Step 2:
I used 2 cans alone in this process. Pull the plugs, spray into each cylinder. I let it sit for a few hours and went out to check on it. Some of it was gone (throught the rings) so I filled them again. I did this a couple of times and then let the car sit overnight (~8 hrs longer). Works better teh longer it sits as long as there is still MCCC in the cumbustion chamber.

Step 3:
I grabbed teh wet dry vac and taped some vaccum line on it. I put it in each hole and got out what I thought was all the fluid. Depending on how long you sat and ring conditions, there may not be much at all. Then, I cranked the car over a few times with the plugs out to shoot out some of the carbon and clear any fluid I missed. May want to use rags as carbon will fly out of the holes.

Step 4: I started the car and did the same as you stated above.

I had a step 5:
Take car out with logger and Phantom knock gone!!!!

at this point I can only dream of not seeing knock when I'm finished.

thanks for the tips.

Hopefully I'll be doing this the next time Jenny works the evening shift.


Do I just get MCCC at the dealership or does Checker or Napa carry it?

(which dealerships carry it?)


Step 1 should clear out the carbon on the head side of it right?

Step 2 is for pistons?

i got mine from the Dodge dealer. i didn't vacuum anything outta the cylinders, i just took out the plugs and cranked it over and watched as shit flew all over the place outta the engine. I was kinda shocked at how much crap came outta there. I did the same as u stated, one can thru the PCV, one can for the 4 cylinders, then i went to bed, when i woke up and went out to the car it had been sitting for like 10 hours. And then launched the crud outta there, and all a sudden my engine tick was magically gone. That stuff is awesome!

Ok I did this last night. And have a question.

Here's what I did.
-Warmed the car up to operating Temps

-I descided not to do Step 1: PCV only because I have a SMI with collectors. I figured it would just pool on the bottom of the intake manifold and not actually go into the motor. Plus the actual hose hook up is on the very bottom of the intake vs. the top like the stock intake is.

-Shut the car off pulled the plugs and then poored 1/4 can into each cylinder.

-That's where I left off.

But I have a question. When I poored it in to each cylinder the 2nd one in from the passangerside. Smoked alot for about 5 minutes straight where as the other 3 didn't do anything. Is that normal?


Also Noticed some things.
-My BOV might be leaking a little bit from where it mounted to the I/C piping. (BOV it self isn't leaking just the gasket,etc.)

-Little bit of steam coming from my Thermostat housing. (very hard to see and only once in a while)

-Looks like there might be some coolant on my new plugs. (Possible another head Gasket this one has all of 1000 miles if even)

During lunch I got as far as Dry/Vac the MCCC out of the motor and Turned over the motor to get the gunk out.

All I have to say is DAMN that was some nasty looking gunk. And a lot off it.

Looked like someone puked on my car. There was a bunch that launched and stuck to my hood. Looked like somone took and entire paper towel and rolled it up like a spit ball and then launched it at the car.


After that My toes were knumb as well as my fingers so I went inside to let then warm up. But by the time I got comfortable again it was time to head back to work.
