Rotational Rubbing 50+ mph...Please help or give me feedback!!

Good morning,

I'm goin to try and explain this as best as possible. While driving at 50+ mph I get this rubbing that rubs @ its own "rpm" lets say. This "rpm" doesn't seem to match the rotation of the wheels or anything of that sort because its slower, I could be wrong...The rubbing is rotational & becomes faster when turning left, but completely stops when turning right? My steering is very responsive so I don't think its a wheel bearing, I got an alignment and was told my strut will still cause the car to want to pull right this was after I just put in new axels, ball joints w/ control arms, 8lb flywheel and clutch, I did / still do have some vibration during WOT because of my rear transmission motor mount missing a bolt up top which sounds different. I feel the rubbing hit a certain point to were it gets louder and at that point the vibration can be felt threw the steering wheel and the gas pedal.

Things i plan on checking

-Wheel bearing shake down
-Lug nuts.

Any other in-site?

Sounds like a right side wheel bearing, but make sure you don't have a wheel or tire rubbing on the right side as well.

First and foremost, get the rest of your mounting hardware in.....They use that many bolts from the factory for a reason. Then I would check your brakes, and inspect your tires for uneven wear or damage. If all else fails, pull off your transmission and check your torque specs on the clutch and flywheel.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Turning left and right which makes a sound come and go would in no way affect the transmission/clutch/flywheel.

I have some uneven wear on the right tire, (the only one i really looked at), the wear seems to be from the middle of the tire and in towards the motor. Weird. Also, i'm running 225/50/16 which i've researched, should fit no problems

When's the last time you had an alignment? Have you checked to make sure all of your suspension components are fastened tightly?

Either way it doesnt get louder driving straight, the rubbing only gets fast when turning left, does that make cents that a wheel bearing can do this?

Yes, it sounds like a wheel bearing.

Get the car in the air and spin the wheels by hand while your other hand holds the spring. You will feel the bearing vibrate through the spring

So this is a all wheel drive car? Did you check your carrier bushing i know mine is starting to go out more like is shot. . .that in addition, to my center motor mount thats in the middle of the fire wall is missing a bolt up top as well im sure is contributing to my vibration and rub noise. Its almost identical to what you are explaining. My car didnt start doing it untill after i roll started my car.

A tape measurer and some chalk on a garage floor will get your toe pretty damn close. At least so you don't fuck up your tires on the way to your alignment appointment.

If you're near Champlin I can check out your front end and hook you up with a cheap alignment.

Just call up there and ask for Brian and I'll put you on the schedule. I'm up there almost every day from 2pm on

Remember to count the turns when you take the old tie-rod off.
