Ever Wonder What's Behind Those Plastic Panels?

So I'm stripping the car down before taking it to the body shop and found this. Not so much as a spot of rust anywhere else on the car.

Usual places. When Mark and I painted his car in school, it looked about the same as that.

That is why plastic panels suck. The salt just sits in there and eats away.

That is the exact body work which my Laser will be getting next summer. Would you mind sharing the name of the body that your car is at?

Re: Ever Wonder What's Behind Those Plastic Panels?

That's why you need the Eclipse body panels, much less than the Talon panels. :-)

Luckily mine hasn't done that yet, I just had to pull mine off to get the front fenders off. Minnesota sucks.

Re: Ever Wonder What's Behind Those Plastic Panels?

Yours looks great compared to mine. All new metal in that area. It was a PITA. I had the same issue. When I bought the car it appeared to be completely rust free. I pulled the panels to find gaping holes. Damn salt....
