Clutch line problems

I have a 97 Gst and my clutch line that goes to the actuator(release cylinder) on the bottom of the transmission keeps leaking.. i tried to repair it myself but nothing i did would stop the leak so i took it in to a shop. they "fixed" it and it lasted for about a month and started to leak again. any ideas on what might be the problem?

Re: Clutch line problems

i did and it is still doing it, i have a new clutch line on the way so hopefully that will do it. could clutch pedal adjustment or anything else put too much pressure on the system?

Re: Clutch line problems

I guess idk, but I went through 2 slave cylinders before I got one that didn't leak so you might just need another new one...

Did you get a new slave or rebuild your old one?

Being the lowest point of the system moisture and crud can accumulate in the slave over time and cause it to become rusted/pitted. Sometimed a little sand paper and new seals fixes it. Sometimes it's so bad you need to replace it.

Re: Clutch line problems

when i went to get a new one , it ended up not being the right one i guess so i gutted the new one and cleaned up my old one. i checked for any defects in the old one, cleaned it all up and put the new parts in it and replaced the fittings. it worked for a day and then started leaking out of the line again.

Re: Clutch line problems

well its not official yet but i finally got my new clutch line in and i think i fixed it. the only problem is i had to bypass the clutch dampener.. hopefully that doesn't effect anything long run . its running good otherwise.
