Re: $52/month, full coverage LOL!

My insurance went WAY down. I was paying $140 a month for liability on my 90 Galant through Progressive (I was high risk) now I'm paying $55 for my 98 Altima through State Farm.

Re: $52/month, full coverage LOL!

I was paying around $96/month for full coverage in Minnesota, $500 collision/comprehensive deductible. Now that I moved to Iowa for 6 months it dropped to $63/month, with slightly more liability coverage.

I'm switching over to regular insurance and my quote was $45/mo for full coverage on my wife's Trailblazer and my GSX. Being old is good.

Re: $52/month, full coverage LOL!

The WRX only made mine go up like 35 or 40 a month also, I pay 190/month for the following:

$30,000 renters coverage
Full coverage on both the Talon and the WRX, including glass and towing with a $500 deductible on each.

Re: $52/month, full coverage LOL!

Now you do understand that for example full coverage on a 10+ year old car will get you about $800 if it is totaled your fault or not. You must insure the car at appraised value. My Dad at the time was 65 had a 91 Ford SHO and it was mint condition the car was hit and totaled at a stop sign and the insurance company would only give him $1800 for it. This car only had 45k miles on it. His insurance company would not make up the difference with his coverage and he got $1800. I spoke to my and other insurance company and you must purchase GAP insurance on a financed car or your stuck. Full coverage is a waste of money. My Mustang I insure with Allstate at declared value and even if someone else hits me they must give me my insured coverage value. I pay $400(Apr-Oct) a year on full coverage with declared value of $16k on my '89 Mustang. My sons '91 Talon TSI was declared at $4k and he is 17 pays $48 month on full coverage. I put declared value on all my Full Coverage cars. It is cheaper and if something happens they mail a check. The only problem is that you can NOT Buy the Vehicle Back.

Re: $52/month, full coverage LOL!

Hah, I just switched over to consumer insurance again and insured my GSX for $13k in value and it's $48/month. I've also got full coverage for our two newer daily drivers and all together it's $200/month, and we get a $300 yearly decrease in our home owner's insurance, which is dirt cheap for the coverage. After paying $500/mo for the last seven years, this seems like a bargain.

Re: $52/month, full coverage LOL!

I turned 30 and the Evo is now the cheapest car I've ever insured with full coverage.

Re: $52/month, full coverage LOL!

Old thread, but I was surprised to discover that Geico does not like the Evo. They had good rates on my 325xi but wanted something like $220/mo. lol.

I ended up with Progressive at $117/month w/$500 deductible. I figure that isn't bad for a new car. Progressive was also really good when I totaled a motorcycle ten years ago.

Re: $52/month, full coverage LOL!

I moved to Denver, CO and have no insurance. I got pulled over and and the officer gave me a ticket and when I went to court the judge said the fine would be $771 so he gave me a move to get insurance and come back to just get a $200 fine so now I'm in the market for insurance. I will probably just get it for 3 months since the gare will be in storage starting Dec 1st when I leave for the Marine Corp.
