Back from shop...

I just got my 99 eclipse gs back and the technicians over at Brookdale Mitsubishi said that they heard a slight lifters tick. I've read forum that the 3gs lifter could be put into the 2gs 420a and the lifters tick will go away.
I'm clueless to what it is. I can try to put in a clips of the knock of my car in a bit.
Thanks

Lifter tick is fairly normal in the 4G63's. What oil/filter are you using? A lot of the time those can effect it.

I think you read about the 3g lifters working in the 4g63, not the 420a. Lifter tick doesn't matter though, try changing to a differnt type of oil. Mine hates Mobil 1.

Re: Back from shop...

Mitsubishi wants your money. If your fixing that non-turbo car too much, better yet sell it while the miles are still low. Go get yourself a Turbo DSM. Mine has been maintained properly and for 8 yrs i been changing oil, tires, and 1 sensor. Nothing major.

Re: Back from shop...

Yeah I was thinking about it trading it in but since that it is paid off I dont want to. The car has not cause me any problem that is serious, beside me hearing that knocking/ticking. I'm moving on to the evolution 9. I'm still undicided on which to get IX/X.

My heart sank when I read that anything from a PT cruiser is an upgrade for someone.

Well your heart will really sink when I tell you that I'm building up a 2.4 and the block came out of a caravan.

Haha, yea I've heard about about minivan blocks before, just never anything from a PT cruiser. To me that's almost like an Aztek.
