Brake Ducting

Anyone have any sweet brake ducting setups for road racing? I wanna do something simple on the Evo. Does anyone know anywhere locally that carries the orange 3" 550degree ducting that everyone seems to use?

AMS has a pretty pimp setup, but I think I will skip the fancy dust shields and route the ducting to just point at the rotors.

I think I might be able to come up with some of that hose!

Honestly, unless it's a SERIOUS road race car, I think that stuff really isn't needed. You'd be better off getting some cross-drilled/slotted rotors then ducting. AMS's kit is WAY too much for a basic flat piece of aluminum with a metal tube tached to it. If you want, I'll make you one for half the price!

Are you currently getting any brake fade? Some nice pads will solve all your problems on the street.

Re: Brake Ducting

My question is why? The stock undertray has ducts built into it that aim air at the brakes.

First off, the ducts on the stock undertray are a joke, and secondly, Mine is no longer on the car I plan on doing pads, shims, SS lines, and high-temp fluid, but I kinda want something a little extra for when I find myself doing some extended backroads jaunts.

Moreso, I'm curious to see if anyone around here has any slick setups!

Re: Brake Ducting

Why would you need high temp hose? Looks like dryer ducting to me. About $8.99 at Home Depot.

lols, that dryer ducting is Uber thin, that orange stuff will probably stand up to rocks and razor blades flying up from the road surface.

Re: Brake Ducting

Driving it during the winter could potentially suck, considering it would send all the salt and road shit right at your brakes.

Re: Brake Ducting

Would possibly putting on a 'filter' of some sort take care of that? I know it would steal some air and get dirty in no time but do any of you think that would work?

Re: Brake Ducting

The ducts to the rotors are an option on the 06 IX if I remember correctly. $149 from the dealer they look different from they way I remember them though, I thought they looked like the ducts in your pictures.
