1g cruise control...Can't get it to work

So I'm dealing with a car that had the cruise deleted. Here is what I have done/found so far.

1: I put a cruise control unit in it... nothing, little orange light comes on on stick that was it...

2: Twotalons suggested checking that the clutch switch was being engaged...checked this to reveal it had been removed completely along with the brake pedal being switched out for a 2 prong unit... so I replaced them both... (with used parts) still nothing.... little orange light thats it....

3: I replaced the multifunction switch assembly, no change... still no cruise...

Probably going to take the drive to down and buy a unit from TwoTalons but any suggestions would be appreciated....

Thanks,
-Travis

Pretty simple, but have you checked the related fuses? You should have a cruise light come on on the dash, the orange on the stalk is just paint.

Well I have in general looked over my fuses but I can't find anything specified toward cruise and I don't have an owners manual

Another thing might be the vacuum line going to the control unit on the firewall.

found the problem, turns out the guy that eliminated the cruise originally took out everything, the brain box under the dash was removed.
