Did you sell it, or trade it in on something?

Re: 1991 Eagle Talon TSi AWD CLEAN AND LOW MILES!!!

a sucker is born everyday, thusly, i bought the car. What was ever determined about the black smoke? Boost leak? Oil? I plan on giving it the once over tonight, just wondering what I should be looking for. History from someone that isn't "trying to sell the car" (i.e. maybe not being entirely truthful) would be useful.

My bet would be the valve guides leaking oil.

That would be blue smoke, not black.

I don't really get the point of this. A used car is a used car, talk to the buyer if you're not happy. Were you expecting a certified Lexus for $4000?

Re: 1991 Eagle Talon TSi AWD CLEAN AND LOW MILES!!!

No CEL. Looks like a few silicon elbows are in order, tightened a few hose-clamps up. I still need to fashion a ghetto boost leak tester. I might try playing with the MAFT, but first I need to get the AFR Gauges that were previously working connected again... it does smell rich. And no, it has nothing to do with "exposing flaws" or anything, but I'd like to get the car running right, and it seemed like a few site members have a little history with the car. No offense to the seller or anything, I mean, it's not like I bought it site unseen.
