Building new engine

The 7 bolt has reached 145K, has a few issues, but in the long run is still running strong. Figured it was time to start the 6 bolt buildup. Plans are to build it for a T3/T4 setup. I basically just need suggestions for the build up if anybody has had experience with building for this kind of setup.

I have a block that came from a 91 Laser, as far as I know it will need to be bored 20 over just to be safe. Will I be able to use stock pistons or should I use aftermarket and what kind? Wut will I need to anything special with the crank?

Re: Building new engine

You could do stock rod/pistons. The only downside is the very low stock 7.8:1 compression pistons. If you do pistons, you will need to make sure you get pistons that will work with stock rods, unless you do aftermarket rods also. You will probably want some thing like a DSMLink or an AEM EMS, to get rid of all the random misfire errors that will usually happen when you put a 1G motor in a 2G.
