Re: Strange mis-fire problem

So how did you come to the cunclusion you need a maf? You just said in your first post that when you unplug it, the car dies.

Just because you tightened couplers doesn't mean the intake pipes are sealed. Just go outside, make a tester and get to it.

Re: Strange mis-fire problem

Is the Ecu stock? Alpha's car did something similar with a 1g maf in it, when he put the 3g one it came with back in it ran perfect... Whatever maf you use, the ecu has to be setup to work right with it. Just because it dies when you unplug it doesn't mean the maf is good, they can fail at higher airflows only.

Re: Strange mis-fire problem

Depends on if its a stock chip or a aftermarket chip that someone put in there I would assume. Certain 1g's came with eprom's from the factory so they would have to work with a stock 1g maf.

Sounds like it needs a boost leak test and a tune. Bring it to Shane @ DB, he can straighten you out.
