Re: WTS: MAP Stage 5 Head

Pics of port work and measurements of head thickness seem too important not to list. Also pics of the cam journals, and do they remove flashing from inside the head? Cam caps and pics? All those seem like good questions on something like this.

I do not have calipers. If you're genuinely interested to the point where you want precision measurements, I encourage you to come take a look with your calipers.

Re: WTS: MAP Stage 5 Head

^ exactly, and a camera is used to take pics of the port work done. If your trying to sell something and someone is interested and asks for more pics and info on it than why not please that person? Sure I am interested so just bring it by and I'll take a look at it.

Re: WTS: MAP Stage 5 Head

You guys ask too many questions. If you want to know what a MAP stage 5 head is, go look at their website. This isn't rocket science.

This is exactly why you don't want me taking machinist measurements. Or anyone else on this site except a few select people like Hill.

It's how I know he's not serious. I mean, $500 is a stock used leaky head + valve springs.

Re: WTS: MAP Stage 5 Head

MAP Stage 5 Cylinder Head Preparation (DSM)

Our price: $2337.96 (only added valves and guides)

The MAP Stage 5 service improves upon our stage 3 cylinder head in several ways. We take the porting and polishing to another level through aggressive intake and exhaust work including our proprietary MAP “B” shaped exhaust port, improved bowl to seat blending including reshaping of the guide bosses, extensive reshaping and finishing of the combustion chambers, and unshrouding of the valves for improved flow. Proven to 1000+whp in 4g63 applications on both of our in house race cars we feel this is the best performing cylinder head on the market, period.
Included Services

Clean / Hot Tank
Visual Evaluation / Inspection
Deck Resurface to High Performance RA Specs
Proprietary MAP 5 Angle Radius Valve Job
MAP Stage 5 Porting / Polishing
Final Assembly
Outbound Shipping via Fedex Ground service

Valvetrain Components

We understand that customers looking for cylinder head service may have already obtained some, if not all, of their valvetrain components. We also understand that many customers are looking to purchase a complete cylinder head package from one reliable source. As such, we will provide the option to purchase valvetrain components to be included with your cylinder head service as seen below. If you already have the component in question and plan to send it in for your cylinder head service, simply choose "Customer Supplied."

Why Choose MAP Machining Services?

We utilize a Serdi seat and guide machine that provides us with some of the industry's finest valve jobs. We not only cut seats for the non performance market, but have also designed specific cutters that we use in all our modern 4 valve heads. Every head is also vacuum checked after each seat is cut to ensure that no head leaves with a poor sealing valve. We would then typically set and adjust the installed valve tip height to our specs to ensure proper valve train geometry is maintained.

We also have a resurfacing machine that provides a superior RA, or finish, on both cast and aluminum blocks and heads, which is crucial for proper head gasket sealing in modern engines. Ours uses the CBN cutters and provides a superior finish to the older, multi-cutter systems that many shops still use.

NOTE +1MM VALVES AND AFTER MARKET VALVE GUIDES REQUIRED FOR THIS STAGE HEAD

Please note that this product is built to order. Based on fluctuations in demand build times may vary throughout the year. Please contact an MAP sales representative for current estimations.

See if Map wants it, maybe they'll fix it up and sell on their site.

If you're just going to scrap it give me a rough price. Scrapping it won't net you much at all.

It'll give me the satisfaction of not being raped. Instead, choosing what I'd rather do with it.

In any case, it's sold pending funds tomorrow.
