Re: Turbo Upgrade Advice

Just get all the upgrades you want and when the parents ask, just say "it was there when we bought it." Normal parents wouldnt know, unless they're mechanics themselves. I had the exact rust problem with my N1 exhaust, haha. You can get a nice front mount off ebay and paint it like Vicious said. They'll never notice...

Re: Turbo Upgrade Advice

Do the big T-28, and dsmlink if possible. If you do get the T28 make sure you have your O2 housing ported out. I did the same thing and had boost creep problems until I got the housing ported. Stock injectors should be good for a while but you will want to replace them to make the full potential out of the turbo. Add in a new intercooler and you should be good for low 13's maybe a 12. Best of luck.

Re: Turbo Upgrade Advice

He's saying the 2600 takes more pressure from the TOB side to release the disc, which pushes the crank into the thrust bearing harder.

That is what I was going to say for obvious reasons. Defainately not as fun as a good old 50 trim on the 2.0.

Its hard to suggest anyhting without knowing what you want performance wise and what you want to spend. If you know someone with a known good 14b, you could pick it up cheaply enough and get a little more boost out of it. Buying a random one may cause you to spend time and money bolting up a crappy turbo.

If your budget can stomach it a big 28 or even a 16g variant would be nice. If you don't see yourself doing cams, the small 16 is fine.

Yea someone I know had a good 14b so I'm just going to use that. I'll go all out when I'm able to build my motor later on. I was just afraid I might blow something up or screw something up if I went to a t28/16g with all my good luck
