Today was it!
Well, I'm officially no longer an employee at Goodyear. My hours have changed at Toyota, and with a pay increase, working here just didn't make sense. That, and the union handbook doesn't like you working for competition (don't see how that works, but whatever). So, I notified them this morning, and after hashing out things, today was it. I move on Monday to my new hours at the other job. But, for all your tire/alignment needs, my good friend Pete is there to help ya! PM or ask him for deals, specials, costs, etc. Or, just PM to annoy him!

I could never work at a place that was unionized. They should be outlawed.

Re: Today was it!
Unions these days do nothing but protect the crappy workers and hurt the good workers.

Re: Today was it!
I'm up to 17 an hour, then commission on top. So fuck off. And, yes the union sucks in many ways, but it also helps out. There are good workers I know who have been protected from getting fired by the union. whenever a paycheck is short, a union rep makes damn sure the company pays up or else! So, they are there for ya. Just sucks it costs soo much out of my checks, and there are things tehre I don't like. whatever.

Re: Today was it!
I have to go to a lot of plants that are unionized. I absolutely hate going there. You can't get anything done because people are only allowed to do one thing, and most of them spend more time on break then they do working. I never want to work for a union. Any problems I have at work I just simply bring up to my supervisor, and we usually get it all taken care of.

Was that comment really worth bringing up a 2 month old thread?
