Unhappy Did I put in the wrong fuel?

Ok so I was at the pump and put in the Premium Fuel in the car and I noticed that it said It was Non Oxygenated gas. Did I put in a bad fuel? Is my O2 sensor F#%@? Is it going to suck gas like a pig drinks water? Is my Cat going to be more plugged up then a fat guy on a toilet? Is my car going to hate me and never run right ever again untill I put in the 5.00 high octane that its aways wanted but i had never had the deep enough wallet to satisfy her? Umm... so what do i do now. It made it home alright.

Re: Did I put in the wrong fuel?

Ok so I have been doing some internet searching on this now. I think, haven't found out for sure yet, it appears that the regular mixed gasoline that is mixed for winter is the junk stuff and the stuff I just got done putting in my car is the good stuff. However it is 91 octane and I know I should be putting 93 octane but I wonder if because it is non oxygenated if it will perform like maybe...hoping...92 octane.

California is sure pissed off though, or thats what i found mostly in my research.

Just out of curriosity though going on quality of gas, has anyone ever experienced difference in quality of fuel, meaning that they will get better gas milage with another fuel from one place then another? I have been pump hopping and it seems like the gas milage changes place to place. Or it may be how I drive place to place.

Re: Did I put in the wrong fuel?

Non-oxygenated is actually better for high performance cars. Don't worry about a thing.

This question has come up before. It's good to notice when you're putting something abnormal in your car. It's a good thing to ask. However you should have noticed it was ok on the ride out of the gas station

Re: Did I put in the wrong fuel?

Yeah, it's not a s great for the environment, but entirely safe for your car.

Pretty much all gas stations carry the same gas. I've heard that some stations may put in small amounts of additives, but the difference is miniscule. The two major differences are seasonal formulas and age. Sometimes if you go to a podunk gas station which has old gas from the wrong season you may call it 'bad gas.' Anything from a normal city, high volume station should be pretty much the same.l

Re: Did I put in the wrong fuel?

Now if you put in E85 or diesel, you'd have a problem. Anything else at the pump is fine.

Re: Did I put in the wrong fuel?

It was located in Lakeville at a Marathon Gas station. There is another one in Apple valley near the library and court house. It was previously a Cenex gas station. I haven't had any problems with it what so ever so probably I am going to keep running it because they have good prices. I have had experience bad fuel with additives that seem to get bad gas millage but this stuff is pretty good. It is funny how gas varies one station to another.

Re: Did I put in the wrong fuel?

Non Oxygenated gas is gas without Ethanol. MN gas is E10. 10% ethanol. With E0 (Non Oxygenated gas) you will see better milage and more power. That is if you have proper octane...91 ain't it. If it's not at a high volume pump, like the Shell in Plymouth, it could be old gas and have lost it's octane. If decently fresh, it is better than 91 octane E10, I'm just saying you should feed that beast the good stuff if you are driving it hard at all.
Regards,
Reid
