how come the 1/4 #s with evos are like 11.6 and the dsms are getting 11.9 with a big 16g? does the boost build up quicker some how?

The big 16g's in the EVO are considerably different from the usual big 16g's

the 16g's in the new evo's spool like a t25. Plus it's a whole different car. I mean 1/4 times aren't based solely on the turbo. There are more factors, like gearing, tranny loss, all sorts of other things that could have been improved on the EVO over the years.

The 16Gs on the Evos are much better. The difference between the small 16g and big 16G, but people are getting noticable gains out of the Evo 3 16G compared to the other 2 16Gs. The 16Gs on the later EVOs are twin scroll so they spool even faster than the 16Gs we can put on our DSMs.
Also you have to consider some of the other parts of the EVO 8 motor are more advanced than what was put into the DSMs.
The small 16G record on a DSM is 11.5 though.

ok what if all those things were maxxed out, then what numbers should you expect with an evo16g?
how much does a stock evo weigh?
how much does a stock dsm weigh(1g and 2g)?

All kinds of different 16Gs were used on the Evos over the years. the one that fits on a DSM is not the exact same one found on the EVO 8. With a 16G on a DSM you can expect 12s or 13s. With a 16G on an EVO you can expect 12s or 13s. There are shitloads of DSMs and EVOs out there with 16Gs on them, very very very few runs 11s on it.

if you were implying putting an evo8 16g on your car, then just forget about that, no way will that work. main problem being it has a different bolt pattern on the exhaust housing, and also it faces the wrong way, but you could just flip it around i suppose, but still, your bolt holes wont line up.

Wouldn't an Evo 8 use an Evo 8 turbo and the Evo 3 use an Evo 3 turbo? Nah, can't be. That makes too much sense!
