Fried ECU maybe?

Well I was driving and I could smell like a burnt clutch/brakes, but I thought it was a semi I was following. Then the car cut out, all gauges dropped and lost all power, then about a hundred yards later a bunch of smoke came out from under the center console. I pulled over right away and shut it off and took the console off and I couldnt see anything that was melted or was hot. Then after that it wouldnt start, it would turn over and fire but wouldnt run, all dash lights and everything still worked though.

Has anyone heard of something like this? I was an hour and half late to work so I was unable to get a good look at anything

Pop the ecu out and take a look, it's only a couple bolts and 3 clips.

Re: Fried ECU maybe?

The true question is: Why did the ECU fry?..........

Re: Fried ECU maybe?

Well I got it all figured out, it wasnt my ECU because I took that out and it was fine. Then my dad asked if it had any fuel pressure and it didnt. SO I took a look under my back seat and the fuse on the power cable was melted and just destroyed. But I have no idea how all the smoke came up from the center console. I put a new fuse holder and fuse and it fired up, so im just happy that it wasnt anything more serious
