Re: big bore kit for 420a

we will see how i feal about my little gs when spring comes around! i got a lot of body work to do "NO rust" just a really f-ed up body kit that i have to replace. and then re paint it! i will see how much of a deal the vendor i go through will give me ,that would be the deciding factor for me! my good friend bought a lot of stuff through him "agp 61 trim turbo OMG it's huge" and every thing that goes under the hood of an SRT-4, so i might get a pretty kick ass discount!

the good thing is i got a free blitz like body kit from my friend when i bought the car!

Re: big bore kit for 420a

We had a big part in a build by a kid that lives down in Rochester who had a GS 420a. In the end, and three years into his continuing project he finally made about 380whp on my Dynojet. But the headaches, crazy $$(he had an unlimited budget) and pain in the ass it was to get to that point were just not worth it. He said the same many many times. Basically wished he had never started modding it. He spent at least three times what it would have cost(to make similar power) if he had a factory turbo dsm.

In the end, he sold it and bought an MKIV TT Supra.

And btw, Nash was on my dyno(just furthur proof of the claim).

Re: big bore kit for 420a

Holy crap! Your NT has a F'd up body kit, needs a paintjob and a lot of body work, and THEN you're going to start trying to make power on a 420a? That's about as bad as it gets. Is it an auto too?
You are about to pour a ton of money into a car to try and get it to do 2 things that it will never do: Look good and go fast.

Re: big bore kit for 420a

Speedfreak.. Thats the SADDEST story I've ever head. Like really. When I got to the part where you said "unlimited budget" my jaw dropped and all of the sudden I was VERY angry. What a dumb ass.

Speedfreak....I want to know two things.
1.) What color is this Supra menacing the streets of Rochester.
2.) What is this kid's name.

Re: big bore kit for 420a

Since then, he sold the Supra(I wanted to buy it). It was Anthracite. And his name was.. shit.. I forgot, can't believe I can't remember.. oh well, I can look it up on the dyno charts, or in the receipts, if you really want to know.

Re: big bore kit for 420a

There is no use on convinicing the 420a crowd. If he has a dream let it be. When the nightmare comes. It should wake him up. I still say a person with 3k into a 420at vs a 1k 4g63t. The 4g63t will wax the 420t by many bus lengths, but than it is not my money or my car. Yes, there are problems with 4g63t motors but I seen the 4g63t motor with over 150K on a stock motor but I had never seen a 420a stock over 100k without issues. Good luck with the build. I hope you don't regret it one year from now. Yes, you mentioned that there is a couple of guys on the NA site that is racking up HP. Go on any 4g63t forum and you will find that more than 10% of the people are making big hp out of stock engines and little money. The only regret I have of owning a DSM is that it like to mark it parking spot.

Re: big bore kit for 420a

Yeah, it is a 61mm turbo, which is a 56 trim (same turbo I have). This isn't a big board and noone on here has a huge budget, but there have to be 10 members on here that have/(conversion from DD) made over 500 whp on a dynojet. Are there that many on the national 420a board?

Re: big bore kit for 420a

I don't want to argue anymore. It isn't worth my time. blesi660r, if you want more info about the 420a, pm me.

BTW, my car has over 140,000 miles on the stock motor and I have no issues whatsoever.

No one is argueing with you. We are just telling the truth. GS and RS are more of a show and no go car. It is good that you manage to boost the car, but how much mod is left do you have before you can break the 400 HP. Keep us updated when you do. I would like to see how much you have spend and how long the car is going to last under the boost. Post picks of you OD over the 140K. I would also like to see that too.

I am curious what is the top speed of a GS?
