2g Eclipse GS Overdrive shifter switch

Okay so i know this may have been a really stupid move but as i was working with my shifter I cut the 3 wires that ran to my overdrive switch. I tried to rewire them but seems that the switch is now just a light on my dash. What did I do? Also since that happened my transmission wont shift into 4th gear.

Make sure you wired the the right wires back together and didn't mix any of them up. Also how did you wire them together? Solder, crimp butt connectors? Make sure you have good connections where our wired them

The wires are together with twist connectors. The wires got cut in the middle of colors so I just matched them together.

Don't do that. Do it right and see if it works. Solder, heat shrink, etc

Or at least use a good heat shrinkable butt connector

Re: 2g Eclipse GS Overdrive shifter switch

It wont shift into the final drive because the button is thinking its still in overdrive. is the button actually functionable, i.e. it pushes in, then push in again and it comes out?
