The line that everyone loves

So slowly I have been doing maintenance here and there on my Galant and have been planning some very basic bolt ons for my daily driver. Fuel pump swap will be this weekend so I go to the trunk and have a look at what I am dealing with so I can commence the penetrating oil bath on the fuel line fitting for the next couple days. Here is what I find:

It's a little worse than my 1g I owned but I dont really feel like doing the braided stainless steel from pump to rail like I did last time. Anyway suggestions on how to go ahead and get this mother off the most careful and cheapest way? I havent even attempted with wrenches yet and I probably wont for a few days just so the penetrating oil gets in there. Any tricks you guys got let me know

Looks nearly as bad as my 1G. Penetrating oil and line wrenches did it for me. Try squeezing the wrenches together with vice grips or something similar. If you can keep the wrenches force in line with each other you can really put as much grunt into it as possible. The problem comes when you start twisting that metal line sideways.

Get brakeline style wrenches that go over the line, then slide sideways onto the "nut" part. Make sure they are the right sizes, then make sure you turn them the right way, and give 'em a good strong push at first, like an impact wrench might do.

This is of course after they've soaked a while. Multiple hits of JB80 or something like that.

I created a plastic bag PB blaster penetrating oil pool that emersed the nut and fitting in. It worked after sitting for a day or so.

I hate rust.

Yes, and remember, WD-40 is not a penetrating oil! PB Blaster is the best I have seen readily available.
