Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
For a 1g dsm. If so, can I take measurements of the adapter bracket?
I could compensate you for the service.
LMK!

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
I had the kit, and I traced them onto a piece of paper and took a bunch of measurements. I can look around when I get home and send you it if I can find it.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
I scanned it and attached it. Only problem is proportions staying the same. To check, I printed it and held it up to the light against the original, and for some reason it was stretched longer just a hair (maybe an 1/8th if I were to guess). Width wise it's fine. But length wise, is stretched just a hair. I dunno what I'm doing wrong.
Shoot me a PM if you have any ideas, or maybe this is close enough to get you there.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
I don't need it to be to scale, since you provided dims.
This is awesome, Brandon. Thanks a million for doing this.
Another question - know what thickness material they used?
I might have a bunch of these made on a CNC. If anyone is interested, LMK.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
I can't remember the thickness, but they were beefy. Does 1/2" sound about right maybe? Just straight carbon steel. You could ask Blageo if he still has any of that info because I think they were considering making some at one point to several years ago.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
Also, not sure if you saw this thread but it may be useful to you.

Only thing wrong is I think I ended up switching the calipers around. I initially installed them so the bleeders were on the bottom. Then later realized I did it backwards, bleeders should be on top (where the air would be).

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
I might be interested, I need to upgrade to something bigger than 2G brakes over the winter.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
NVM - thanks for the link to your install thread. Got the info I need.
Also I confirmed that *the other guy* uses 1/2" steel for the brackets. Gonna draw up a model and send it to my CNC guy today.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
Those are the bolts and lengths I used. I'm not an ME so you may want to use different lengths. RTM didn't sell a kit with bolts and lines when I did this, so I actually helped them pick out the bolt sizes and brake lines, and helped them put together the complete kit they sell now a days (look at their pics, notice how their lines look strangely identical to my ebay ones ). I think we ended up choosing slightly longer bolts (35 and 45) for their kit, but I can't remember. Minor stuff but hopefully that info helps get you 95% of the way there. I forget the site, but if you dug hard enough you could find our conversations on some Canadian DSM site.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
Got a 3D printer? Might be worth making one out of plastic or whatever for testing fitup before running a batch made from steel.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
Do you know the size of the spacers? Just realized I need those, might integrate into the bracket.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
the spacers for the calipers? I don't know, but before they made those people just stacked washers. Also you'll need that hub-centric ring.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
Yeah, i'll probably figure out what thickness I need and incorporate that into the final design.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
oooh, i might redesign them so they dont' rotate the caliper. I think it looks a tad bit funny.

Re: Does anyone have the cobra front caliper kit?
yes, absolutely. Maybe without the threaded holes.
Also going to try to make them out of aluminum, weight savings and easier to machine.
