Noisy Solenoid

The middle solenoid on my firewall (I believe it's the EGR solenoid) is noisy as heck. It makes a clicking noise between about 1,000 and 2,000 rpm. Has anyone ever had and solved this problem? Is it the solenoid that's bad or something else?

My car's a '96 Talon TSi.

Re: Noisy Solenoid

It's not that, although I definitely a lifter tick too. This noise is even louder than lifter tick. I can touch this middle solenoid and feel a thumping inside it. I tried cleaning it but that didn't work.

How your timing on your car? I know that the solenoid makes noise if your timing is off.
