I wouldn't say that. Look around, the 4g63/64engines are making alot of power now, mostly because of better fuel & ignition management systems, better turbos, and better aftermarket support. The engines are still the same basic set-ups.

When people are cracking blocks, then you know the engine is going about as far as it can in a streetable form. 4g64's seem to be worse, and it makes sense because the block is thinner because of the bigger bores.

Indeed. Your cam isn't "hardcore" until your worried about putting retainers into seals .
And valves into pistons.

Read the new issue of D-Sport for a nice article about long versus short rod applied to Dart block Honda engines. The results are not what you'd expect. And they got a hell of a lot more difference than Hot Rod did doing the same test on a couple of V8's. Rod ratio doesn't seem to mean dick on anything but paper.
