I bought a used Big16g ported with the flapper upgrade from someone on Tuners. It spins freely and has no shaft play but the turbine is all beat up. Is it usable?

I deffinately would not put that on my car...but thats just me. Did he run the car w/o a filter for a long time? That turbo will be out of balance and *IF* its able to make boost it will take a lot more effort and time! What did you pay for that thing and where you aware of the condition? Have you asked for your money back?

I was not aware of the condition. I payed 500 for that POS. I just asked him for my money back. We will see what he says. Said it only had 750 miles on it and it was in good condition, then i get it and the turbine is crap. :censored: I hope hes not a bitch. I told him i wanted my money back and I would ship it back to him.

750 miles of wood/bird chipping duty. That really sucks dude...a lot to pay for used Big 16G, but it wouldn't be a bad price had it really been that new and in perfect shape.

Too bad you hadn't picked mine up back when I had it. The kid I sold it too still hasn't done anything with it yet, just sitting there collecting dust.

I just sold my S20G, with 02 housing, injen intake, with Oil feed, spacer plates. for $500 was used with 48Kish miles on it.

But damn sorry to hear about the bad luck. I'd say it's clipped! not in a good way.

How did you pay for this turbo? If you paid Paypal call your CC company and cancel the payment then call Paypal and explain what happened and tell them you already canceled the payment through your CC company. Once your CC payment is canceled mail the turbo back ASAP with delivery confirmation. If you paid with a money order or a certified check, go to the place of purchase and have it canceled (if it isn't too late).

You also have to realize once spending $500-600 on a new turbo you still need to pay for the porting and a larger WG flapper. IF that turbo were in actual 750-mile condition then $500 would have been a good deal. I think I sold mine for $450 with 2 years on it.

Isn't that the compressor side? That thing is seriously fucked up. Looks like it sucked in a socket.

IMO, just ask for your money back. A normal turbo rebuild runs $300 from FP plus the cost of a new wheel and whatever else may be damaged in there. I say eat the cost to ship it back (~$19 via USPS) and get the remaining $481 returned to you.
