weight reduction

so i hear theres this supposed large metal plate in my trunk. is this true? if it is can i remove it without screwin up my handling too much? if so how?

Other than the spare tire, there is not much in the trunk which adds up to much. There is some metal framing around the spare tire, a jack, some tools, and that is about it. If you plan on keeping the spare tire in the car, I wouldn't mess with it. If you plan on tossing that also, just undo everything under the carpet and throw it away. You probly won't even feel a difference before and after.

I would ditch the spare, tools, and remove the rear bumper. You are talking about 70 lbs if you do that. Kill the front bumper and you are over 100 lbs. Just remember what your bumpers do. You will sustain a lot more damage if you are in an accident.
